Hi Everyone!
Well, we’re more than halfway through the season already which is proof time flies when you’re having fun! We had some terrific racing this past week despite the heat. The forecast for the upcoming week looks to have some cooler temperatures which provides some great opportunities for some new PR’s!
I also wanted to share our 2024 photo album which you can find here. Feel free to upload any photos you’ve taken of the team maybe at Cross Camp, sometime during summer training, or during the XC season. Thanks to Jen Kuipers for giving us a nice start to some great racing pics!

Gallant Award
The Gallant Award originated from a topic we used in devotions previously from the cartoons featured in Highlights magazine called ‘Goofus and Gallant’. Goofus is the jerk that always does the wrong thing, and Gallant is the bright and shining example of the right thing.
The Gallant award is given by their teammates. Each week the previous week’s recipient along with advice from our Captains will choose who they feel is the bright shining example of the right thing to do.
Caleb Denhartigh
One of the things that we value in our UCXC athletes is tenacity. That means getting out and doing the work even when you don’t necessarily feel like it. Caleb was chose for that exact reason. Sure he might grumble about work, like we all do, but he does the things. Thank you for your tenacity, Caleb!
Charolette Bremer
UCXC athletes hold high Christian values and beliefs. One of those values is to love one another. That was precisely why Charolette was chosen this past week. Dealing with an injury just meant she could show love to her teammates making sure they all had everything they needed before the race. Thank you Charolette for being an example of love!
