Hi Everyone!
What a great race on Saturday! I was really bummed to have had to miss that, but wow! What a performance!! 24 Personal Records (PR’s) and 23 Season Records (SR’s). Apparently some cooler temperatures and… I dunno… light… makes a huge difference. Congratulations everyone!
Regrettably I’ll be on a work trip this week through Saturday so I’m going to have to miss Ottawa Hills as well. Ya’ll are in great hands with Coach Kelly, however! If anyone needs to get a hold of her, her number is 616-334-1696

Gallant Award
The Gallant Award originated from a topic we used in devotions previously from the cartoons featured in Highlights magazine called ‘Goofus and Gallant’. Goofus is the jerk that always does the wrong thing, and Gallant is the bright and shining example of the right thing.
The Gallant award is given by their teammates. Each week the previous week’s recipient along with advice from our Captains will choose who they feel is the bright shining example of the right thing to do.
Jacob Kuipers
Jacob was chosen last week for the same reason he was voted to be captain. He comes to practice, and he goes to work all without complaining. We can all aspire to have Kuip’s work ethic! Great job Kuips!
Alaina Gruppen
Alaina Gruppen is a fierce competitor, but she does it with a smile. No matter how difficult the workout, or uncomfortable the weather, Alaina always comes with a positive attitude and a competitive spirit; traits that we should all resemble. Keep it up Alaina!
