FAQ’s

What is Cross Country?

Cross country running is a sport in which teams and individuals run a race on open-air courses over natural terrain such as dirt or grass. It is both an individual and a team sport; runners are judged on individual times and teams by a points-scoring method

How long is the race?

The races are expected to be 5 kilometers (3.11 miles), but actual distances can vary slightly between courses.

How are teams scored?

When an athlete finishes a race, his position becomes his score.  The top 5 athletes from a team make up the score, with a low score winning?

Are Boys and Girls on the same team?

Not really. At Unity we practice together, and our meets will be held at the same place, but all events will be scored separately.
